Turtle City: Rules

In Game Rules or "Laws"

While very important, in-game laws are often punished with in-game consequences such as fines and loss of licenses/property. In extreme cases, they can be punished by jail-time (temporary bans). *Future updates may add crime to the server system, making it an official part of gameplay*

Laws are enforced by Government Employees (Staff). You can apply for a Government Job here: Staff Application Form 

General City Laws:

• All forms of scamming and stealing are strictly prohibited

• Attempts to harm other players or oneself are illegal

• Verbal abuse toward others is not permitted

• Trespassing in all forms is against the law

• Evading police (ignoring staff) can be considered an extreme breach of law

• Diplomas, licenses, and items used in the transactions to get them may not be traded

Licensing Laws:

• Licenses are NOT to be traded

• Driver's licenses can be acquired from the DMV

• The Government reserves the right to seize licensing at any time

• Business Licenses may only be purchased from the Turtle City Business Center

• The standard business license permits a company to own ONE business property

• Most business properties are marked with signage but not all, if there is confusion over whether a property is a business one, the Government should be contacted

• The corporate license allows a company to own multiple businesses. Please note that companies still need a dedicated and owned/rented office building to own more than 2 properties. If the rent expires, the properties may be seized or shut down

• The production license allows a company to produce using farms. This includes mob grinders, standard farms, the use of animals for products, and more. A company must own/rent 10+ desks of office space PER production property they operate. Production properties must be Government approved BEFORE production begins.

• Specialist licenses are required to sell certain goods and services. These include but are not limited to:

Car Fuel (Blocks of Coal) License

Betting/Gambling License

Vehicle Dealership License

Hotel License

Taxi License

These licenses can only be purchased directly from the Government. Contact the Government if you have confusion about license requirements for your products. 

Building and Housing Laws:

• All constructed buildings must be safe

• Players may edit all parts of their owned plot (plots have height limits) but cannot disturb roads/crosswalks/entrances/ect

• Houses must meet building codes (be safe, look realistic, be Government approved) and may be subject to removal if not

• Residential houses are not business properties and cannot be involved with companies or production (Real Estate Companies may make money from buying and selling houses)

Work/Business Laws:

• Operating businesses outside of licensing is strictly prohibited (This includes owning too many locations for your level of license, breaching building codes, producing in unauthorized locations, and opening shops without any registration)

• Working outside of designated areas (For Gov. Jobs) is illegal. Citizens must LEAVE (Using Commands) their job upon leaving the worksite as to not accrue payments from unrelated tasks. (This is due to flaws with the plugin allowing money to be gained away from workplaces)

• Working without appropriate education is not permitted

• Hoarding goods from wholesalers is illegal, goods must be made available at prices deemed reasonable by the Government

• Significant undercutting crashes the economy and is illegal

• Offering extremely low prices to individuals is deemed corrupt and not permitted

• A business must have a dedicated office building to own more than 2 properties

• Production is only permitted on government approved properties

• Mob/animal farms are only permitted on specific properties with government approval

• IF EMPLOYING OTHER PLAYERS, A CONTRACT (SIGNED BOOK BY WORKER AND VICE VERSA) WITH WAGES AND CLAUSES MUST BE KEPT BY THE COMPANY. THE EMPLOYEE SHOULD ALSO HAVE A COPY OF EACH BOOK. IF WAGES/CLAUSES ARE NOT MET, THE GOVERNMENT WILL INTERVENE.

Road Laws:

• Reckless driving is not allowed

• Driving without a license is illegal

• Drivers must stop when required at intersections (Review Traffic Laws in Guide)

• Driving at excessive speeds is dangerous and illegal

• Drivers must stay to roads and driveways, off-roading is not permitted
